The Project:
(a) Sears and Roebuck
Sears is the 4th biggest retail chain in United States of America. The various business Sears are retail chain and Credit card business or worth $40 billon. Sears has sold there $36 billion credit card business to City Bank of US in the beginning of 2004 because even though it was $36/40 billion business but they were not in top 10 in US and the concentrated on there retail business of $4 billion. Sears and Roebuck project in CTS was mainly Call Center project or providing support on retail business, customer care and customer support. They are using the PegaSystems v6.5 Tool (like Siebel) for their call center project.
Responsibility Held:
I initially contributed to analysis of the functional requirements, development of technical specification, coding and unit testing of enhancements assigned to our team. This was mainly a MNE (Modification and Enhancement) project. Mainly worked on 2 modules 1) Providing Resolutions to customers to there problems of products bought from Sears or any other brand rather than scheduling the service for the customer product. 2) Check by Phone module. There are different modes a customer can pay for the service provided by the sears to them on Customer products if they are out of guaranty. Modes are Cash, Credit card, by normal check or Check by Phone. In first module it was providing online support to customer on there faulty products and the second module was to provide one more payment option to customer.
(b) Microsoft Imagine Cup Algorithm Challenge
Imagine Cup Algorithm is a test (exam) for talent hunt from all over the world. It mainly involves first round of questions (GK) test, second or semifinals round and final round involve some kind of programming test. Number of participants in this competition is almost 75k, Out of which 200 are selected for the semifinals round. Herbert is the semifinal round game a kind of programming game. Herbert is a product of Fasttrack, It has a Robot which can move by program and by programming it reaches its target and skipping hurdles and negative targets. Microsoft bought this product and site for their Microsoft Imagine Cup Algorithm Challenge semifinals. Herbert was initially built on Mac C by CEO of company 15 years ago. This project was reengineering of this Mac Herbert to .Net environment. We copied the Interpreter part of the Mac Herbert to C# and rest of the things is built on C#. Almost 2% of the code is copied for Mac and converted to Object oriented model. This game (exe) is launched as a NDT (No Touch Deployment) from directly from wildnoolde site, which is the latest technology by Microsoft. This game utilizes the processing power of the client machine and doesn’t need to have trips to the server of logic and execution. It connects to server of only updating solutions.

I initially contributed to analysis of the functional requirements, development of technical specification, coding and unit testing of enhancements assigned to our team. The Herbert was build by Vinay including the transferring of the Interpreter logic of Mac to .Net. Also worked on site of wildnoolde which is hosting this game.
